Biogas

What is a biogas plant and how does it work?

A biogas plant converts organic waste — such as food scraps, cow dung, or agricultural residue — into biogas, a clean renewable fuel used for cooking, heating, or power generation. Inside an airtight tank, anaerobic bacteria break down the waste, releasing a methane-rich gas that can be directly piped to stoves or generators, and a nutrient-rich slurry that works as an excellent organic fertilizer.

What types of waste can be fed into the biogas plant?

Our biogas plants can process a wide variety of organic material including kitchen food waste, vegetable peels, cow and poultry dung, fish waste, agricultural crop residue, and wastewater sludge. Non-organic materials like plastic, glass, or metals should never be fed into the plant.

How much gas does the plant produce per day?

Gas output depends on the plant capacity and the type/quantity of waste input. As a general guideline, 1 kg of food waste produces approximately 100–150 litres of biogas, which can fuel a standard burner for 30–45 minutes. Our team can help you choose the right plant size based on your household or institutional waste volume.

How long does installation take, and what is required?

For portable biogas plants, installation typically takes 1–2 days and requires a flat surface with access to water and organic waste. Fixed dome plants may take 3–7 days depending on the size and site preparation required. Our team handles the complete installation and provides hands-on training on plant operation and maintenance.

Is Emerald's biogas plant patented?

Yes. Emerald Enterprises is the one and only company in India holding a patent on the Level Model High-Tech Biogas Plant. This patented design offers superior gas retention, easier maintenance, and higher efficiency compared to conventional dome-type plants.

Are government subsidies available for biogas plants?

Yes. As an authorised service provider for ANERT (Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology) and the Suchitwa Mission Kerala, we assist customers in applying for available government subsidies. Boats

What materials are your boats made from?

All our boats are manufactured using high-grade Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) with Isophthalic resin and Isophthalic gelcoat. This material combination provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, UV stability, and a long operational lifespan — making it ideal for Kerala's backwaters, lakes, rivers, and coastal waters.

Can I customise the size, colour, or seating of my boat?

Absolutely. We offer customisation for hull length, seating capacity (6, 8, or 10 seats for speed boats), colour scheme, interior layout, and motor type. Our design team will work with you to finalise specifications before manufacturing begins. Lead time for custom orders is typically 3–6 weeks depending on complexity.

What engine options are available for the speed boat?

Our standard speed boats use an OBM (Outboard Motor) with a maximum engine capacity of 115 HP. We can accommodate different engine brands and capacities based on your intended use — recreational, commercial, or rescue operations. Transportation of the boat to your location will be charged separately.

Do your boats come with a warranty?

Yes. All Emerald boats come with a manufacturer's warranty covering structural integrity and FRP workmanship. Engine warranties are subject to the respective motor manufacturer's terms. Our after-sales service team is available across Kerala for maintenance, repairs, and spare parts support.

Solar

What types of solar panels does Emerald supply?

We supply both monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels suited for rooftop installations, ground-mounted systems, and off-grid setups. All panels are ANERT-approved and sourced from reputable manufacturers. We also offer solar water heaters in flat-plate and evacuated tube configurations.

How much can I save on my electricity bill with solar panels?

Savings depend on your system size, consumption pattern, and local tariff rates. Typically, a well-sized residential solar system in Kerala can offset 70–100% of daytime electricity usage, resulting in significant monthly bill reductions. What maintenance do solar panels require?

Solar panels require very little maintenance — primarily periodic cleaning to remove dust and bird droppings, which can reduce output by 10–20%. FRP Products

What FRP products other than boats does Emerald make?

Beyond boats, our FRP product range includes fish tanks for aquaculture, tail harvesting rainwater storage tanks, fiberglass doors, septic tanks, and fully custom fabricated structures. All products are manufactured at our Edakochi facility using the same high-grade FRP materials used in our marine products.

Are your FRP fish tanks food-safe?

Yes. Our FRP fish tanks are manufactured using food-grade, non-toxic resin systems. The smooth interior surface prevents biofilm and algae buildup, and the tanks are completely corrosion-free — ideal for fresh water fish farming, prawn culture, and ornamental fish breeding. We supply in capacities from 500 litres to over 20,000 litres.

How durable are fiberglass doors compared to wood or steel?

FRP doors significantly outperform wood and steel in Kerala's humid, coastal climate. They are completely termite-proof, rust-proof, warp-resistant, and require zero painting or polishing over their lifespan. They maintain their structural integrity and surface finish for 20+ years even under heavy monsoon exposure.
